Haunted Hills Mountain Bike Park planning, design, approvals, construction
TrailScapes recently completed the construction of Stage 1 of the Haunted Hills Bike Park (HHBP) which includes a new 15km network of purpose built mountain bike trails, a pump track, and visitor facilities
HHBP is the brainchild of local mountain bike club, Gippsland MTB Inc. In the making from 2012, the network has been planned and designed to create a significant ‘gateway’ trail network attracting strong interest from locals and visiting riders and providing opportunities for genuine regional economic benefit. In 2018, a $976k Federal Government grant gave the project the kickstart it needed.
TrailScapes was engaged by the Latrobe City Council to undertake the design and construction of a 13km+ mountain bike trail network, asphalt surfaced pump track as well as a range of associated infrastructure, including carpark, toilet, BBQs, shelters, bike repairs and wash-down station, trailhead and signage.
Construction commenced early in 2021. The community is very excited at the prospect of these long awaited trails coming to fruition. The HHBP forms the centrepiece of the Central Gippsland Hub, comprising a number of bike parks and iconic mountain bike experiences in the region.
The project received another round of funding and TrailScapes is currently awaiting approvals to complete Stage 2 of Haunted Hills Mountain Bike Park.
