Design and Construction of Railton Asphalt Pump Track, Tasmania

Client: Latrobe and Kentish Councils Date: Design - March 2019 Construction - late April to mid May 2019 Location: Tasmania Map: Get directions

This one happened in a flash! If you’ve ever been involved in a D&C project, you’ll understand that designing, constructing and opening a large landscaped asphalt pump track in less than 2 months was a mammoth effort for all involved, including Council staff, Landscape Architects Birdseye Studios, local asphalt and turf contractors and of course our incredible team.

The 800+ square metre is suitable for racing (mirrored tracks), connects with the nearby skatepark and acts as a trailhead for the future network of world-class Mountain Bike trails being constructed as part of the Wild Mersey Trails project. The track can be used by bikes, scooters, skateboards, in-line skates (even dogs as pictured below!) and is suitable for all ages and skills levels.

Located at Goliath Park in the picturesque town of Railton, the facility also includes toilets, showers, and bike wash!
