Aston Hills Mountain Bike Playground

One of our latest projects in 2019 involved designing and building what is essentially a Mountain Bike playground in the middle of the new exciting housing development of Aston Hills in Mount Barker, South Australia, where your House & Land package is way more than that. It is refreshing to see them emphasise the need to build communities, with shops, school, recreational facilities rather than just housing. It was an honour to work with a forward-thinking company.
The Mountain Bike facility comprises of a descending Flow trail that incorporates timber features, berms, rollers and can be “sessioned” over and over again by climbing back up via a picturesque path weaving through giant gums. There is a pump track (like a BMX track, where the aim is to “pump” to gain momentum around the track rather than pedal), and a fun skills park where you can improve your balance skills on the timber boardwalks. The facility was designed to respect and fit its environment and cater for a wide range of users.
You can expect to see more of these “Urban Mountain Bike Playground” pop up in new developments!
